SOLITEX MENTO compliant as sheathing membrane/roof underlayment for National Building Code of Canada 2015

SOLITEX MENTO 1000 and SOLITEX MENTO Plus comply and exceed the requirements of CAN/CGSB 51.32-M "Sheathing, Membrane, Breather Type/ Membrane de revêtement perméable à la vapeur d'eau" as described in the National Building Code of Canada 2015 per section “9.27.3 Second Plane of Protection” for protection of sheathing beneath vented cladding and " Roofing materials" as a roofing underlayment.

To show compliance to this standard, the following requirements were confirmed by certified Lab tests:

  • Pliability at 10C, MD – no cracks
  • Dry tensile strength – passed
  • Water vapour permeance, ASTM A – new and aged - passed
  • Sheet width - passed

This means that SOLITEX MENTO 1000 and MENTO Plus, with it’s high level of airtightness, are compliant with NBC-2015 and can be used for construction as sheathing membranes, weather resistive barriers, or roof underlayments in projects throughout Canada.
